Social media influencer Andrew Tate arrested as part of a human trafficking and rape investigation kept six women under '24/7 house arrest as prisoners'. Officials said Tate asked his employees to monitor his victims' every move, forcing them to participate in pornographic videos on the Internet.

"The abuse was physical and emotional. They were not allowed to leave the house and were watched day and night. They were essentially kept under house arrest 24/7 as prisoners. They were deprived of their freedom and followed everywhere, " a Romanian judicial source told DailyMail.

Prosecutors allege that Tate recruited women on social media platforms and lured them by falsely declaring his love and intention to marry. This method of his, known as the 'boy in love', is often used by criminals to recruit victims suffering from economic difficulties by luring them with gifts and promises of a better life abroad.

The six victims were forced to participate in videos on the 'Only Fans' growth platform and TikTok app. From these videos, the 2 brothers were making staggering profits.

"We have information - based on what they said on social media - that one of the girls brought in up to 50,000 euros a month and they were not given any money," the source said.

The women held hostage were an American citizen, a Moldovan and four Romanians. Romanian investigators began the investigation when the US embassy in Bucharest raised the alarm because diplomats discovered an American woman was being held in the city against her will.

The 22-year-old, whose name has not been released for legal reasons, managed to get hold of her mobile phone and call her boyfriend in the US, who alerted the embassy. A video of the raid released by police also showed officers taking guns, knives and money.

The former kickboxer has previously said that he moved to Romania with his brother because they believed they would receive less attention from the police, but that was not the case.

The 36-year-old was arrested with his brother Tristan, 34, along with their assistants Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu at their £600,000 villa in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, yesterday morning.
