The study has analyzed over 80 hours of dolphins and the authors have reached the conclusion on the interpretation of facial expression as a sign of peace and tranquility.

So the open mouth and bright eyes is an instrument of communication.

It has even been noticed that this habit of joy is transmitted only when they are in the company of other dolphins or even humans, and not when they are alone, despite the games.
