A young Venezuelan woman's attempt to joke in front of the civil servant who certifies marriages has ruined what should have been the most beautiful moment of her life.

The girl named Miriam, when the assistant asked her if she wanted to marry her fiancé, jokingly answered "no", but quickly remembered to let it be known that she was joking.

Although she then quickly clarified that it was a joke and said the expected "yes", she was told that at that moment the marriage could no longer be celebrated.

The story took place in Caracas, Venezuela, where Miriam just wanted to joke with her boyfriend, Danilo.

But the local registrar took the joke seriously. He even told the young bride: "No, you can't be kidding." Unfortunately, today we will not be able to do the wedding, you can talk to the secretary and agree on another date".
The scene was filmed by wedding guests and the video was then shared on TikTok, where it went viral.

When the assistant told the bride that she could no longer marry her lover, the hall froze and the groom lost his color, while Miriam is seen shocked.

But the civil servant was quick to explain his position.

"This question is asked because, unfortunately, sometimes people involved in weddings are forced to say yes without their consent. This is the reason why no kind of joke is allowed", he said.
