Selena Gomez broke down in tears in the first trailer for her upcoming documentary, "Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me," sharing a look at her life and ongoing health issues.
"All my life, since I was a child, I have worked", explains the singer of "Lose You to Love Me" with tears in her eyes. "And I don't want to be, like, super famous. But I know that if I'm here, I have to use it for good."
Gomez has been open with fans about her battle with many health issues over the years, including her diagnosis of lupus in 2014 and struggles with anxiety and depression.
She also sought treatment in 2018 and revealed in 2020 that she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
"Just be who you are, Selena," the actress and producer of "Only Murders in the Building" says to herself at the opening of the trailer. "Nobody cares what you're doing. It's about who you are. To be okay with where I am. I am grateful to be alive.”
Gomez's longtime friend Raquelle Stevens also appears in the documentary, talking about her experience supporting the pop star through her many personal struggles.
“If someone saw what I saw, they wouldn't have recognized it,” Stevens shares.
The documentary spans six years of the Rare Beauty founder's life, giving viewers an inside look at both her philanthropy and the intensive treatments to combat her various ailments.
"Everything I've been through will be there," the singer of "Same Old Love" confesses. "I am happier and in control of my emotions and thoughts more than ever."
