The Apollo Archaeological Museum shared online the first object of the year: a god and her consort.
It is about the object also known as "The Good Genius with the cornucopia", or the god of abundance, found in Apollo. The object is made of limestone material, with dimensions: height 55 cm, width 35 cm, thickness 15 cm, the projection of the relief 5.5 cm at the knees, 7 cm at the head.
On the left is a seated, naked god with a swollen belly, a large head and irregular proportions. In his left hand he holds a cornucopiae, while in his right his attendant stands and wears a Chiton and Himation.
Some researchers present them as Illyrian gods of fertility, Vidasus, Thana, who appear from the c. III p. BC to VI century BC. Kr. Other researchers refer to him as the "Good Genius with the Cornucopia" (cornucopia).
The work dates back to the Roman imperial period and is exhibited in the MAA.
