The fattest cat in the world starts a diet
Puss

The fattest cat in the world has started a diet.

The owner of Patches, a male who weighs about 18 kg, has decided that the pet should eat less in order to lose extra pounds.

Cats usually weigh 4-5 kg, depending on the breed.

It is thought that the reason Patches is so overweight is because he has been eating human food, not cat food.

The world record for the fattest cat is held by Himmy, who in 1986 weighed 20.8 kg.

Subsequently, the Guinness Book of Records decided to remove this record, so as not to encourage owners to overfeed their cats in an attempt to break the record.
