In Westminster Abbey, the religious service for the Queen's funeral ended, in the presence of 2,000 guests. This is the historic church where the kings and queens of England are crowned. For Elizabeth II, this moment was marked in 1953, 6 years after she married Prince Philip in the same place when she was still a princess. Since the 18th century, there has not been a religious funeral service for a monarch, although in 2002 there was one for the Queen Mother.

King Charles III made sure the flowers placed on the Queen's coffin had a special meaning. Charles requested that the wreath contain symbolic arrangements that included flowers from her wedding bouquet to Prince Philip.

"At the King's request, the wreath features rosemary, English oak and myrtle leaves (cut from a myrtle-grown plant that was in the Queen's wedding bouquet) and flowers in shades of gold, pink and deep cherry, with a white touches, cut from the gardens of royal residences."

Her flowers, wreath and baton were placed on top of the coffin as it was moved from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey, where it lay in the center of the church.

There was also a note from Charles that read: "With love and devotion, Charles R."

The Queen married Prince Philip in front of 2,000 people on 20 November 1947. Philip died on 9 April 2021, aged 99, at Windsor Castle.
