Ajola Xoxa, the wife of the mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj, has made a dedication to her grandmother, the well-known ballerina Ganimet Vendresha, on her 88th birthday.

Xoxo has shared some photos of her grandmother when she was 25 years old, as she tells how she ran away to Moscow to study ballet and where she met the love of her life.

The sad woman says that her grandmother has not been in good health for the last 6 weeks and that she recently had a cardiac arrest.

"I wish he still has years to stay with us, but even if it's only days, they will be those of someone who has done a lot of good in life, and who has brightened the hearts of everyone he has been around. I love you so much my good grandmother, beautiful and with a gentle soul. I am very lucky that a part of you lives with me," she wrote, among other things.

Xoxa's full post:

In the first photo, my grandmother Ganimet Vendresha is 25 years old. Today she turns 88 years old.

The youngest of 8 children. At the age of 16, he left for Moscow to study at the Bolshoi Theater Ballet School, and on this trip he met my grandfather. They lived there for 8 years and when they returned they founded the Ballet School and later they were the first directors of ballet in the establishment of the first Opera and Ballet Theater in Albania.

Grandfather had a passion for photography, leaving us an immeasurable wealth. Also, he kept a diary until the end of his life. I started reading it when I was little and it is one of the first love stories I have read, through my grandfather's own words, from a boy to a man. It is even more beautiful. Their love (and life) has been like what we all dream of: true, endless, invincible, shadowless.

Today my grandmother turns 88 years old and in the last 6 weeks she has been in and out of the hospital three times. After a cardiac arrest, on August 23, he was brought back to life by Doc. Alfred Nona, a man of rare qualities.

We have now lost a part of it forever. The last few weeks have been very difficult for our family.

I was raised by my two parents and by this grandmother, and after the loss of my father 3 years ago, my grandmother's illness has torn my soul apart. But in all this sadness, I still think that a life like hers is the greatest destiny that anyone can have: 88 years filled with love, a lot of love, with peace, kindness, trust, indeed, seeking beauty and goodness in everything. All her students and friends remember her as the purest soul they have ever known, as a person dedicated to family and work without ever complaining.

Regardless of the tears that come to my eyes every day in the last few weeks, I am happy that my grandmother has had an infinitely beautiful and at the same time extraordinary life (these two very rarely come together).

I wish he still has years to stay with us, but even if it's only days, they will be those of someone who has done a lot of good in life, and who has brightened the hearts of everyone he has been around.

I love you so much my good grandmother, beautiful and with a gentle soul. I am very lucky that a part of you lives in me.
