Prince Harry revealed the words he said to Queen Elizabeth II on her deathbed at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

In his autobiography, Spare, the Duke of Sussex reveals details of the trip to the castle after the monarch's death on September 8, according to the Daily Mail, which obtained a Spanish copy of the book.

Harry described how he whispered to her that he "hoped she was happy" and that he would "reunite" with her husband Philip, who died in April 2021.

Harry flew to Scotland on September 8 after Buckingham Palace announced she was seriously ill, but he arrived at Balmoral after she died.

Harry writes that Princess Anne welcomed him to the castle and took him upstairs to his grandmother's room.

"I walked uncertainly and saw him. I stood still watching him carefully for a long time. I whispered to her that I hoped she was happy with her grandfather. I told her that I admired her for carrying out her duties to the end - the jubilee and the hospitality of the new prime minister."

Harry also reveals that his father, King Charles III, refused to allow Meghan to join him at Balmoral, prompting him to tell his father "don't ever talk about my wife that way".

Charles also begged William and Harry "please guys, don't make my life worse in my later years", during a tense meeting in Windsor shortly after the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral.
