Is he just a "cool" guy or is he lying to our faces? Are we exaggerating when we interpret his gesture negatively, or is he really underestimating our intelligence? There are some disturbing signs, in a relationship or acquaintance, that we ignore, not because we can't, but because we don't want to see them. But in what cases is the person in front of us not worthy of our trust?
1. When he tells us he will call, he doesn't. If this happens rarely, it doesn't necessarily mean anything – it could be, for example, that he's having a hard time at work and hasn't been able to be consistent with us. But if this happens systematically, it is good to worry us.
2. He is late to meetings or may not show up at all. Some are more unstable as characters, but the least that someone who systematically "sets us up" owes us is to call us and let us know that they will be late. Otherwise, systematic inconsistency can be a sign of lack of respect and interest.
3. He decides when we meet. The problem is not when he wants to go out with his friends one night, but when he decides to see us, for example, every other weekend or only on weekdays. And when, in general, he sets the rules for how often we meet. Then, we might not be his priority, or he might even have a side relationship.
4. We know almost nothing personal about him. Even if he is not very talkative, it is worrying if he shares with us basic information, for example, about his work, friends, past or his family. Maybe he wants to keep us at a distance or is hiding something important.
5. He shows no interest in our lives. He, on the other hand, while talking a lot about himself, may ask almost nothing about us - for example, about our day, about our feelings, about our life. Another sign that he is keeping his distance. Or that he is too selfish.
6. He has not included us in his social circle. In this case, his friends may not even know we exist. He may not have decided yet if he wants to be with us, or he may have decided that we are nothing more than a casual acquaintance for him.
7. He has many female "friends" - and he doesn't hide it from us. This can have many interpretations – if we consider that platonic friendship between a woman and a man is not the norm. Either he tries to make us jealous for some reason, or he treats us as another "friend", among other things, or he considers us his "main" relationship, but leaves open the possibility for other love adventures.
8. We don't know where you are going and what you are doing. He may find it unnecessary to share his daily life with us – a bad sign. Or hiding something from us – also a bad sign.
9. He never makes plans with us for the future. We are not necessarily referring to the prospect of marriage and family, but also plans for Christmas or even the next weekend. Maybe he doesn't see our relationship as stable.
10. We feel that we are doing something wrong and we are "pushing" it away from us. This is one of the most disturbing signs: we may be dealing with a manipulative, toxic person who is quick to attribute to us his inability to cultivate a healthy and functional relationship.
