The Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Xhelal Sveçla, through a post on "Facebook" on Wednesday, said that the object that was raided near the police station in Pristina belonged to an illegal non-governmental organization (NGO), while adding that an activity such between the three highest security institutions is highly suspicious and poses a risk to the country's security.
The Kosovo Police raided an object in the center of the capital, while the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pristina announced that it is suspected that illegal medical services were being offered in the object near the police station.
"The Department of NGOs within the Ministry of Internal Affairs has confirmed that the organization 'Centar za Mir i Toleranciju Pristina' has not respected the legislation in force on the functioning of NGOs", wrote Minister Sveçla, saying that the illegal activity of the organization in question is highly doubtful that it poses a risk to the security of Kosovo.
"Such an activity between the three highest security institutions of Kosovo - the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Chief Prosecutor's Office and the Kosovo Police - is extremely suspicious and poses a risk to the country's security".
The Kosovo Police and the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Pristina said through a communique that they will inform the public about the developments regarding this action in time, while the facility near the Kosovo Police station in the center of Pristina continues to be surrounded by police units.
Based on initial reports, the action of the Kosovo Police came after suspicions that the facility near the police station was serving as an "espionage center" under the logo of an NGO (Center for Peace and Tolerance - CPT) that was founded in 2002 for support the strengthening of the capacities of local institutions in the municipalities inhabited by Serbian majority.
