Vucic accepts reciprocity for license plates, but on one condition

A few days before Kosovo began implementing reciprocity, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic declared that Serbia is willing to accept Kosovo documents, but only with a note specifying that independence is not known.

According to him, the movement of Kosovar citizens in Serbia should only be allowed for practical reasons, to enable freedom of movement and cannot be interpreted as recognition of the country's sovereignty

According to Vucic, Serbs all of Kosovo should be allowed to move with Serbia documents without showing them at the border, while the plate issue sees it more complicated.

"That's why we're looking for the EU guarantee. We are demanding that each Serb from northern Kosovo can enter Kosovo territory with Serbian documents, and who can come out whenever they want. If they confirm this, we have solved a small problem," Vucic said.

Vucic once again stressed that Serbia does not agree with mutual recognition among countries.

"Forget this and don't come to Belgrade with stories like this, because they're meaningless," the Serbian president said, adding that he is willing to discuss compromise on other issues.

Meanwhile, US special envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar has once again commented on the expected situation in northern Kosovo, stating that no one should die, or be hurt because of license plates.
