The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has said that Germany is leading a tough campaign for Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe.
Vucic has admitted that it is difficult to oppose the German campaign for Kosovo, but he has said that it is up to Serbia to fight.
"They [Kosovo] will have between 29 and 33 votes and they need a majority of 31 (for Kosovo's admission), so everything is on the limit", said Vucic on Wednesday at the opening of the works for the new stadium national in Belgrade, "N1" broadcasts.
Speaking about the negotiations, he stated that Prishtina is behaving "recklessly".
"Prishtina took an illegal decision and everyone agrees that it was a brutal decision to ban the dinar. And then they invite you to talks and to accept all the postulates that Pristina has already implemented. If you do not accept it wholeheartedly, then they say that both sides were not ready for compromise", said Vucic.
He stated that Belgrade is looking for a solution on how to pay salaries and pensions to Serbs in Kosovo and assessed that "there can be no agreement on the banning of the dinar because it is an illegal action by Pristina".
The Serbian president said that the fault is not only of Kosovo, but also of those "who guaranteed the Brussels Agreement".
The Council of Ministers will hold its meeting on May 16, where Kosovo hopes to have enough votes for membership in the Council of Europe.
