The President of Serbia, Aleksandër Vucic, spoke today at the UN Security Council, claiming systematic violence against Kosovo Serbs, as he accused the Kosovo authorities of "repressive policy".
Vucic stated that 11 years ago, the most important agreement for the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina was signed, which, according to him, was not respected by the Albanian side, but only by the Serbian side.
He said that all members of the Security Council have appreciated Serbia's arguments, while adding that official Pristina's movements aim at the creation of Greater Albania.
The Serbian president complained that instead of being sanctioned, the "regime" of Albin Kurti was repeatedly rewarded by the international community, while he claimed that during this time there was continuous repression against the Serbian ethnic population.
"Today we are talking to remind you that 11 years ago the most important agreement was signed between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels. 11 years later, even though the Serbs have fulfilled their obligations, the association is not on the horizon. For all Serbs in Kosovo, these 11 years have been 11 years of unfulfilled promises. Let me remind you that this emergency session was held at the request of the Republic of Serbia, that the temporary institutions of the so-called. Kosovo led by Albin Kurti caused tensions. Serbia presented to the UN Security Council everything that happened, legal violence, physical violence and selective targeting of Serbs in Kosovo. All members of the UN Security Council assessed that our submitted arguments and complaints were in accordance with the facts. The moves of Prishtina's rulers affect everyone equally, regardless of age and gender, and all within the chauvinist agenda aimed at creating a Greater Albania.
Instead of being sanctioned, Kurti's regime was constantly rewarded. At the same time, there was continuous repression, there were 16 attacks, shootings, intimidation of the decreasing number of returnees. Forced removal by the police of signs with names in the Serbian language. The continuous attacks within the campaign of persecution of the Serbs deepened, the persecutors of the Serbs confiscated large amounts of medical supplies in Zubin Potok. UNMIK lacks accuracy about the events of this period", said Vucic.
