In some footage published on social media, it is said that a speaker on Iranian television is seen who appeared to deliver the news of the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei .

And as seen in the released footage, he burst into tears as he read the statement.

Iran confirmed the death of its leader early Sunday local time, a day after US and Israeli attacks on the country began.


In this regard, foreign media report, Iran has declared 40 days of mourning after Khamenei's death.

As previously reported, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei , was assassinated in his compound in the capital Tehran, Iranian state media reported.
