A powerful heat wave is expected to hit Italy and the region, including Albania, over the coming week.
According to meteorological data, a powerful anticyclone will position itself over the Italian peninsula, bringing a significant increase in temperatures from the south to the north of the country.
Forecasts indicate that the extreme heat will not be limited to Italy, but will also extend to the Western Balkans, including Albania, where temperatures are expected to exceed seasonal averages.
Scorching weather will cover almost the entire territory, while only alpine areas and mountain heights may experience relative coolness.
Forecasters warn that this situation could bring days with temperatures above 35°C in some cities in Albania, especially in low-lying areas and those near the coast.
Also, increased care is recommended for groups sensitive to heat, such as the elderly and children, as well as avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours.
Heat waves like the one expected to hit the country are becoming increasingly frequent, as a result of climate change, which makes it necessary for citizens and institutions to take protective measures.
