Zelensky and the Pope

A Ukrainian official has dismissed the Pope's claims that the Vatican is taking part in a "peace mission" aimed at ending the war.

The anonymous official, who is close to the presidential office, told CNN: "President Zelensky has not agreed to any such discussions on behalf of Ukraine.

If the talks are happening, they are happening without our knowledge or our blessing."

The pope previously told reporters that the mission was "in progress now," but it has not yet been made public.
