Trump: Lebanon, Israel heading for historic talks after three decades

US President Donald Trump has said that the leaders of Lebanon and Israel are expected to hold talks, in what could be the first meeting at this level in more than three decades.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump highlighted efforts to reduce tensions between the two countries.

"I'm trying to create some breathing space between Israel and Lebanon. It's been a long time since the two leaders spoke, about 34 years. It's happening tomorrow. Beautiful!" he wrote.

Meanwhile, Iran's foreign minister said Tehran remains committed to promoting peace after meeting with Pakistan's army chief.
