A serious incident has shaken the city of Villach in southern Austria, where a 23-year-old man attacked five people with a knife, leaving one of them, a 14-year-old boy, dead.
According to police, the attacker is a Syrian citizen with a regular residence permit in Austria and has already been arrested.
A 42-year-old man who was driving by at the time of the attack intervened and helped prevent an even greater tragedy, according to police spokesman Rainer Dionisio.
Authorities are investigating whether the suspect acted alone or had accomplices, while the city of Villach remains shaken by this tragic event.
This attack comes after another tragic incident that occurred on Thursday in Germany, where police recently confirmed that a two-year-old girl and her mother lost their lives after a car crashed into a crowd of people in Munich.
