The building in the Uskudar Burhaniye district, where Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan lived for many years during his time as Mayor and Prime Minister, is being completely demolished to be rebuilt as part of the buildings affected by the urban transformation.

In a statement to the media yesterday evening, Erdogan emphasized the importance of urban transformation as a vital process after the devastating earthquake of February 6, where he did not hesitate to mention the house where he has lived for years in the Burhaniye district.

A new 3-story building is being built on the plot of the demolished house, while the neighbors say that Erdogan visited them constantly when they lived in this building.
