An unusual incident occurred on a plane on a flight from Los Angeles to Boston, as a man identified as Fancisco Svero Torres, 33, tried to open the door of the plane from Leominister, Massachusetts.

He tried to be stopped by the passengers, while he stabbed a stewardess. 

Foreign media reports that the incident happened on Sunday evening less than an hour before the landing of the United Airlines plane.

After the incident and the chaos caused on the plane, Torres was arrested by the police. Authorities said the 33-year-old appeared in federal court on Monday. No one on board 'Flight 2609' was seriously injured.

"We have zero tolerance for any type of violence on our flights and this customer will be banned from flying on United pending an investigation. We are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation," their statement read.

Prosecutors said the incident began about 45 minutes before the plane was scheduled to land at Logan International Airport, when an alarm went off in the cabin that a door between first class and coach had disarmed and a flight attendant discovered the door handle had been dislodged.

At this moment, the 33-year-old tried to stab the stewardess in the neck.
