A large cloud of dust has covered a large part of Iraq again. Foreign media suggest that part of Iraq was again covered by a cloud of orange dust, following recent sandstorms, which have become more frequent.

According to reports due to the sand several dozen people have been hospitalized due to breathing problems in the central and western part of the country.

A thick cloud of dust has descended on the streets of Baghdad and many civilian homes have been affected.

The planes landed due to poor visibility in Baghdad and Najaf, and a desert storm is expected today, according to a statement from the local meteorological service.

"Flights have been suspended at Baghdad and Najaf airports due to a sandstorm," said Jihad al-Diwan, a spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority.

The visibility is less than 500 meters and the planes will take off when the weather improves.

Hospitals in Najaf meanwhile admitted 63 people who had breathing problems and most of them left the hospital after receiving help
