The Israeli Foreign Ministry has summoned the Russian ambassador to Israel in protest following statements by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov that Hitler was also of Jewish descent and that the biggest anti-Semites are Jews.
Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said Israel expects to receive an apology for Lavrov's words.
"His words are unforgivable, the ambassador will be summoned for consultation," Lapid said.
