Scandal in Greece, PRIEST sentenced for raping a seven-year-old girl!
Court of Ioannina

It took a decade to end the ordeal of a minor who complained that for a period of seven years, when she was only seven years old, she was a victim of sexual abuse by her village priest.

The 72-year-old priest has been sentenced by the Court of Ioannina for raping and seducing a minor to nine years in prison.

According to Greek media, the case reached the prosecution authorities after a complaint by the child's uncle in 2015, when the little girl had turned 14.

Earlier, the child's godfather had noticed that something strange was happening to the priest, who was frequently entering and leaving the family's home, which lived in a small village in Arta.

The minor has told what she suffered during all these years, from 2008 to 2015, from the village priest, who took advantage of the family's vulnerable position and brought food to the house, but with the aim of sexually exploiting the minor, as stated in court.

According to what was reported in the hearing at the Criminal Court, the priest isolated and raped the minor, either in her home, in an area near the village river, or even inside a church that was only open during certain periods.

The 72-year-old priest for his part denied the allegations, speaking of a conspiracy against him and that he has been targeted.

However, he was unable to explain what the motive of the people who denounced him might have been.
