Scene from the accident

An unusual accident occurred in Indonesia, where a driver "blindly" trusted Google Maps directions and ended up falling off a bridge.

The incident was recorded when the 61-year-old, who was driving his BMW, was following directions on his GPS app to avoid traffic. Google Maps guided him through a new route, which was not yet completed.

Instead of following the bypass road, he crossed a ditch and crashed into a concrete barrier, continuing forward without being able to brake the car. Camera footage shows the moment when the BMW, after a collision, flew and fell from the unfinished overpass.

The 61-year-old driver, who took full responsibility for the accident, said he was not at fault as he was simply following instructions.

Emergency services arrived immediately and provided first aid to the driver and his passenger, a 47-year-old man, who suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to hospital for further treatment.
