The number of injured from the explosion at a gas station in the Prenestino area of ??Rome has increased, reaching 50 injured.

According to Corriere della Serra, two of the injured are in serious condition. Among the injured are at least eight police officers and a firefighter.

The incident took place in two phases. The first explosion occurred while the truck was being refueled with the external LPG tank being unloaded. Due to a system malfunction, there was an explosion with a fire. When firefighters and police arrived at the scene, there was a second, very strong LPG explosion, leaving injured among the rescue forces.

The Center for Integrated Psychology for Well-being in Rome, located in via di Galla Placidia 15, has activated the Free Psychological Listening Center for trauma processing, in response to this morning's explosion.

The Director General of Public Security, Vittorio Pisani, was present at the Policlinico Umberto I hospital in the late afternoon to check on the health of the officers hospitalized after injuries. Pisani wanted to show the closeness of the large family of the State Police to the officers and their families.

According to reports, the firefighter who was burned in the explosion that occurred this morning in via dei Gordiani, in the Casilino neighborhood of Rome, has been discharged from the hospital with a 10-day prognosis. The other members of the team, who were also discharged home with a 7-day prognosis, were sent to the emergency room for the necessary checks. Firefighters are still at the scene to secure the scene.
