Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of the Russian paramilitary group, "Wagner"

The head of the Wagner group wants Russia to leave Ukraine. Through a post on the "Telegram" network, Yevgeny Prigozhin said that the time has come for the government and society to end the war in Ukraine.

According to him, Russia has achieved its objectives, eliminated most of the men who could fight in Ukraine and intimidated the rest.

The head of the mercenary organization, Prigozhin did not mention any of Ukraine's victories over Russia. He said that Russia must now permanently preserve the territories that are under Russian control.

In his appeal, Prigozhin also speaks of a self-serving Russian "deep state" (which he defines as "a community of state-friendly elites who operate independently of political leadership and have close ties and their own agenda" ), which is currently in crisis due to the Federation Army's failure to secure a quick victory.

Prigozhin accused members of this deep state embedded in the Russian bureaucracy of deliberately sabotaging Russia's success in the war as they seek to resume their privileged and comfortable lives.

He then said that these "internal enemies" of the Russian deep state will push the Kremlin to "make serious concessions" that amount to "betrayal of Russian interests", including the possibility of returning occupied Ukrainian territory to Ukraine .

According to the American Institute for the Study of War, Isw, the founder of the private unit is creating the conditions to exploit a possible Russian military failure if the expected counteroffensive of Ukraine is successful.
