US signs $142 billion defense deal with Saudi Arabia

The White House said the United States and Saudi Arabia have signed a nearly $142 billion defense sales agreement that provides Riyadh with cutting-edge equipment and services from American firms.

The White House said the defense deal is part of a $600 billion investment commitment from Saudi Arabia to the United States.

The deal also includes exports of GE gas turbines and energy solutions totaling $14.2 billion, and Boeing 737-8 passenger jets totaling $4.8 billion.
