Russia's ambassador to the US, Anatoly Antonov

Russia's ambassador to the US, Anatoly Antonov, has recently come out with a statement that is expected to be serious, given his official status.

"Even the US military accepts the possibility of a nuclear conflict. Meanwhile, they are mistaken in thinking that such destruction will affect only Russia and Europe. It is extremely short sighted. America will not be able to hide behind the ocean while nuclear devastation affects everyone," he warned , adding that no one would gain from such a conflict.

Previously, only Dmitry Medvedev, the former president of Russia, used the terms in question, but was described as a kind of "hawk" of radical rhetoric.
