The USA has condemned the actions of Albin Kurti's government, related to the actions of the Kosovo Police this Saturday, where the police authorities seized the Serbian dinar and the car that was transporting it for the distribution of social payments from Serbia.

Through a statement at midnight, the embassy expressed its concern about the operations carried out in minority areas, according to which, these actions are disturbing.

Among other things, in the statement, it is underlined that these actions limit the possibilities of the United States to serve as an effective advocate for Kosovo in the international arena.

" The United States Government is deeply concerned about recent actions by Kosovo Government authorities that have a direct and negative effect on members of ethnic Serb and other minority communities in Kosovo. These actions are unnecessarily heightening ethnic tensions and consequently limiting the United States' ability to serve as an effective advocate for Kosovo in the international arena. They include the operations carried out by the Kosovo Police under the direction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs during the past week in the offices of institutions administered by Serbia in Dragash, Pejë, Istog and Klinë. as in the NGO Center for Peace and Tolerance in Pristina. We are also concerned by the actions of the Kosovo Police today regarding the seizure of the Serbian dinar and the car that was transporting it for the distribution of social payments from Serbia. We ask the Kosovo authorities to ensure that the individuals for whom these social benefit payments are intended receive them without delay.

It is the responsibility of the Government of Kosovo to promote the vision set forth in its founding and enshrined in its Declaration of Independence and its Constitution: one of a fully multi-ethnic democracy responsive to the concerns of all its citizens. Issues related to structures supported by Serbia in Kosovo should be addressed through the EU-facilitated Dialogue. We also reiterate our request that Kosovo postpone the implementation of the amended Regulation of the Central Bank of Kosovo on Cash Operations until satisfactory procedures are established in accordance with European standards and until the population is sufficiently informed about how the transition will proceed of their benefits ", says the announcement of the American embassy in Pristina.
