In the four municipalities in the north of Kosovo, the signing of contracts between the state of Serbia and the Serbs who have abandoned the institutions of Pristina has started today. This was announced by the Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia, through which the contracts are being concluded.

According to the announcement, with these contracts, Serbs who have abandoned the institutions "will settle all legal obligations from work relations, pensions, health insurance, etc.

In the communique, it was not explained in which Serbian institutions they will be engaged, but that they will receive from the Serbian state all the income they received from Kosovo institutions. It is added that the first payments will appear in the workers' accounts in December.

"In this way, the promise given by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to our citizens in Kosovo and Metohija, who have left the institutions, is being fulfilled, that the state will take care of each of them and that no one will be left without the support of the state", says the communiqué.

The institutions of Kosovo have not given the exact number of resigned Serbs, but the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vučić, has said that their number is around 3,500. He said that "taking care" of the resigned Serbs will cost Serbia 50 to 60 million euros.

We remind you that since the first week of November, hundreds of Kosovo Serbs have resigned from Kosovo's institutions, including the Police, the Court, the Prosecutor's Office, as well as local and central institutions. The resignations were made as a sign of opposition to the Kosovo Government's plan for the re-registration of Serbian license plates in the north of the country, which Kosovo considers illegal. From November 21, the Government of Kosovo is expected to start issuing fines for those who have not yet re-registered./REL
