Russian missiles have violated the airspace of Moldova and Romania. The claim comes from a commander of the Ukrainian army, who specifies that the attacks were launched from the Black Sea and passed through the two countries, to then end up in one of the border towns of Ukraine.
Moldova confirmed the missile incident in its skies and the government summoned the Russian ambassador for clarification. But this development caused the Moldovan Prime Minister, Daniela Gavrilita, to resign. Meanwhile, Romania, a NATO member country, dismissed the claim that the missile had violated its airspace, a development which, if it happened, could lead to the activation of Article 5 of the alliance and, as a result, a direct collision with Russia.
"The Russian missile never violated Romania's airspace. The closest point of the trajectory to the airspace of Romania was approximately 35 kilometers," said the Ministry of Defense of Romania.
The incident comes just hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Russia's plans to destroy Moldova. But official Moscow rejected the accusations. On the other hand, it is Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov who attacks the West, saying that its leaders have decided to adopt the sad experiences of Napoleon and Hitler to harm or destroy Russia. "We will emerge stronger from this battle", said the chief diplomat.
As always, the former Russian president, Dmitri Medvedev, has shown himself to be the toughest. "American President Joe Biden is showing signs of dementia, and this puts the whole world at risk because of this mental problem, Biden could start the third world war," said the official, who is the deputy chairman of the security council in Russia. Meanwhile, the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has set the date of February 21 to deliver a speech to the parliament, where the main topic will be the war in Ukraine.
