French President Emmanuel Macron interrupted a session of the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi after there was noise and continuous discussions among participants in the hall.

The incident occurred during a panel on culture and cooperation between France and African countries.

Macron stood up, took the microphone and called for silence in the hall.

"I'm sorry, but it's impossible to talk about culture with all this noise," the French president said.

He asked participants to respect the speakers or leave the room if they wanted to have other conversations.

"If you want to discuss other topics, you can leave."

"If you want to stay here, we will listen to the speakers and we will respect the same rules," Macron declared.

Later, he returned to the situation in calmer tones, saying with a smile that "silence usually stops the noise."

The "Africa Forward" summit, organized by France and Kenya, aims to strengthen political and economic ties between France and African countries.

During the forum, Macron declared that France wants to move away from the old model of influence in Africa, emphasizing that "that era is over."
