Protesters have toppled a statue of President Bashar al-Assad's father, former President Hafez al-Assad, on the outskirts of Damascus.
The incident occurred in the Jaramana neighborhood of the capital on Saturday.
Hafez al-Assad was president of Syria from 1971 to 2000, when he passed power to his son Bashar.
In several other cities, the statue of Hafez has also been toppled.
