Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the United States of the attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

In a speech as part of the energy week, the head of the Kremlin described the sudden leaks in the pipelines that carry gas from Russia to Europe as an act of international terrorism.

"There is no doubt that the sabotage of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines is an act of international terrorism. The goal is to undermine the energy security of the entire continent. It is very clear who is behind and who benefits from this. "Now European countries are being forced to buy larger quantities of liquefied gas from the US, which is inferior to Russian in terms of competitiveness," Putin said.

The Russian president further added that they were ready to offer further quantities of gas to Europe during the winter season through the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. The ball is on the side of the European Union, Putin said. According to him, Russia has nothing to do with the stratospheric energy prices threatening Europeans this winter, while he blamed the West for fueling a global energy crisis.

"The gas that is going to the European markets is three times more expensive and is significantly increasing inflation. It has reached over 10 percent in the Eurozone. It is the simple Europeans who are suffering, and just like in the Middle Ages, people are gathering wood to face the winter", said the leader of Russia.

Putin also proposed the creation of Europe's largest gas hub in Turkey and noted that the lost volume could be moved there. He also stressed that Russia will not supply energy products to countries that set a higher price range for them.

Thus, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov reacted to the statement of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who, according to him, had admitted that the alliance was fighting alongside Ukraine against Russia. This, Peskov said, is extremely dangerous.

Also, he called the rhetoric of Western leaders on the use of nuclear weapons harmful and provocative. Amid the noise about the possibility of a meeting between Putin and Biden, during the G20 summit, Peskov clarified that neither Moscow nor Washington are committed to high-level talks.
