"Every time they've built a dam, the flow has increased. And now we'll find out exactly how much it will be on the evening of June 7."
This is how the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, responded to Vjosa Osmani's collaboration with the Democratic League of Kosovo for the early parliamentary elections. The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement criticized the opposition, emphasizing that they are confusing wishes with facts, while considering the June 7 vote a repeat of the December 28 elections.
"Just look at the concrete result. The Vetevendosje Movement has 57 MPs, while the LDK, PDK, and AAK together have 43 MPs. So, those three together have 43 MPs, and the LVV with the Guxo party and the Alternative for the DPSK have 57 MPs."
"So, we are not comparing two parties, but the entire opposition has 43 MPs and Vetëvendosje has 57 MPs, plus we also have nine MPs from non-majority communities, making a total of 66. Consequently, people have desires, and this is normal, but we should not confuse desires with facts," Kurti said.
Meanwhile, Vjosa Osmani continues to thin the ranks of the Vetëvendosje Movement. Former MP Jeta Statovci has joined the former president for the June 7 elections. Osmani announced the news through a Facebook post.
"We started the journey to the Assembly together. And together we are continuing towards the Assembly," she wrote. Ms. Osmani does not spare any stinging remarks about the Vetëvendosje Movement when she writes that she and Statovci share values.
"When they deviate, we stand up again, for the love of the country and for the safe journey of Kosovo," Osmani wrote, among other things.
