In a long analysis for the Wall Street Journal, Liz Truss, who held the post of Prime Minister of Great Britain for 49 days, warns Donald Trump and American conservatives that just winning the election may not be enough to lead America.
Truss says the disasters of the past three years should have taught American conservatives a lesson. The West, she says, is being challenged from all sides by its enemies, while left-wing extremist ideologies, such as environmental extremism, or the 'woke' movement are eroding it from within.
Trump's victory, the former British prime minister continues, would guarantee the missing leadership in the Western world, but that alone would not be enough.
"Even if Trump wins against Biden, his battles will have just begun. In the West, especially in English-speaking countries, there is a loss of compass and a slippage of power and decision-making from elected officials to bureaucrats and technocrats who hold positions without being voted for.
It was the administration that undermined Donald Trump's presidency in his first term, Liz Truss thinks, and they also undermined my job as Prime Minister by forcing me to leave after 49 days. She says that the bureaucrats of the secret state, the dark state undermined her proposals for reformism of the country and will do the same with Donald Trump in the White House if he is elected President in November.
Conservatives must understand that winning the election is not enough. The winners must have a concrete plan to dismantle the dark state, which acts against the interests of the citizens. The former British Prime Minister says that the Bank of England was one of the institutions that undermined her reform efforts.
"When we were about to publish our plan for economic growth, the Bank of England raised interest rates, but not as much as predicted. This led to a loss in the value of the pound and an increase in the Government's debt," she says.
