Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky returned to Kiev today after visiting the United States. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the war will end at the negotiating table only after Russia achieves the goals set by what Moscow calls a "special military operation". He added that Moscow has made significant progress in the demilitarization of Ukraine.

The Kremlin spokesman said that no Ukrainian peace plan can succeed without taking into account today's realities that cannot be ignored, he said, referring to Moscow's demand that Ukraine recognize Russia's sovereignty over the annexed Crimean peninsula. from it in 2014, as well as on other territories that Moscow already has under control.

Meanwhile, Kiev announced that in the last 24 hours at least five civilians were killed and 18 others were injured as a result of Russian attacks in eight regions in the south and east of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the cities of Bakhmut, Lyman, as well as the front line between Luhansk and Kharkiv regions are bearing the brunt of Russian attacks.
