"I think we have the limits of the ceasefire agreement. I hope we have them," Donald Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, suggesting that the United States is close to a ceasefire agreement between Kiev and Moscow.
He added that he was looking for a "solution" to stop battlefield killings and to "save US money spent on military aid to Ukraine."
Trump also announced a treaty to divide territories again, without specifying which territories would be included.
"We're going to have a treaty on dividing territory, and so on. That's being negotiated as I speak to you here," the US president said.
Reporters asked him if he was still considering the new sanctions on Russia that he recently announced on his social media account, but he declined to answer. He also avoided acknowledging that Russia is the aggressor.
"They're fighting each other," Trump said, according to the New York Times.
