On the 23rd day of protests in Tirana, symbols of the Kosovo Liberation Army were also used.

The head of the KLA Veterans Organization, Hysni Gucati, has reacted through a status on social networks, demanding that these symbols not be used for political purposes, calling this action unacceptable and insulting to the dignity of their struggle.

"KLA veterans call on protesters in Tirana: Do not misuse KLA symbols for political purposes."

Pristina, June 22, 2026 – The KLA War Veterans Organization publicly expresses its concern about the ongoing efforts for political manipulation and instrumentalization of KLA symbols in the several-day protest in Tirana.

It is unacceptable and insulting to the dignity of our war that individuals or groups who for years have attempted to diminish, divert, and diminish the value of our liberation war speak and appear in the name of the KLA.

The KLA OVL reiterates with full responsibility that the KLA cause is not and cannot be an instrument of any current political agenda or narrow personal or party interests.

The KLA OVL calls on the organizers of the protest in Tirana to guarantee the integrity of the protest and not allow any attempt at manipulation, misuse or false self-declaration on behalf of former KLA soldiers or veterans.

The KLA is part of the history of freedom and sacrifice of our people and should be treated with respect, not for political gain," Hysni Gucati.
