"In the hospital I said goodbye to you, father! From The Hague I say goodbye to you in heaven" are the words with which Hashim Thaçi adorned the wreath of flowers that was placed in his father's last home.

The former president in the Hague Special Chambers was banned from attending the funeral ceremony by the Hague Special Court, which has not yet provided a clear explanation for this action.
