Italian authorities have been put on alert following information leaked to the newspaper "Il Fatto Guotidiano", in which it is written that foreign services have information that "Ndragheta" plans to blow up Catanzaro's prosecutor, Nicola Gratteri.
According to the report, the clans that created the plot are the ones that have been hit hardest by the Prosecutor's investigations into criminal activities in South America and the United States, as well as in Italy.
Ndragheta is believed to be Italy's richest and most powerful mafia thanks to its hold on the European cocaine trade.
The written document, but also related to the audio tapping, reveals that the assassination was planned to take place on the road that connects the Prosecutor's apartment with his office.
