Zelensky's Christmas message: We are not waiting for a miracle, we will do
Volodymyr Zelensky

On the eve of Christmas, President Volodymyr Zelensky has sent a congratulatory message to his people for this important holiday, now that his country left behind a full 10 months of war.

Between the lines, the Ukrainian leader expresses sadness that he does not expect any miracles during this Christmas and adds that the Ukrainians themselves will do this with the bravery and pride shown.

"We will celebrate these holidays as always. We will smile as always, but with a difference. We don't expect any miracles. We will create it ourselves", says Zelensky.

For President Zelensky, this holiday will leave a bitter taste because of the thousands of lives lost due to the war.

Earlier, in a Telegram post on Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote that Russia is killing with the aim of instilling fear, as well as simply for pleasure. The comments follow an attack by Russian troops in the recently liberated city of Kherson, killing at least 10 people and wounding 55 others.

The Ukrainian president accompanied his post with photos from the scene, which showed burning cars and what appeared to be the bodies of dead people.

"Social networks will most likely mark these photos as sensitive," Mr. Zelensky wrote. "But they are not like that, this is the real life of Ukraine and Ukrainians", he wrote.
