Coldest Christmas in 80 years in US and Canada

A sudden change in weather in the US and Canada that were hit by cold Arctic winds has created chaos in these states. Nearly 250 million Americans and Canadians have been affected by strong storms, while 19 deaths have been reported so far.

In the US, temperatures as low as -45 degrees Celsius have been recorded, and even in Florida temperatures have dropped to zero degrees, the coldest Christmas in 80 years in the US.

More than 1.5 million people are without electricity, while ice has frozen everything, increasing the number of accidents.

Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and Buffalo, New York, are the areas most affected by the storm in the US, while in Canada, Ontario and Quebec are facing even stronger storms and frost.

Temperatures in Montana hit -45 degrees Celsius, while the city of Hell in Michigan froze.

Even the always mild southern states of Louisiana, Alabama, Florida and Georgia are facing freezing temperatures.
