The Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica has announced that two people died today as a result of shooting in the village of Stanoc, Vushtrri.

According to police, it is suspected that a man first killed a woman, and then committed suicide.

Local Kosovo media outlet Veriu.info has published footage of the moment when the murdered woman's husband arrives at the scene, very emotionally distressed, while several others try to comfort him.

"Several shell casings were found at the scene that are suspected to have been used in this crime. Witnesses are being interviewed and in coordination with the police, all the circumstances that led to this serious incident are being investigated," the Prosecution said in a public announcement.

A relative of the deceased, Rrahim Ajeti, said that the victim was around 40 years old and in the past worked together with her husband at the bakery, owned by the perpetrator.

"According to unofficial information, the cause is jealousy because he went to another place to work and left her here. That's it," said the victim's relative.
