The dinghy with 47 immigrants drowns in Italy, accusations to the authorities:
Raft with immigrants

A raft with 47 migrants that had set off from Libyan waters towards Italy has drowned. This is reported by the "Alarm Phone" organization, which explains that in Italy the alarm went off for hours, but the rescue was delayed.

"Many of the 47 people on board are missing", writes the organization while adding that dozens of people who were on the boat have drowned.

"Alarm Phone" writes that the Italian authorities had given instructions to the merchant ships present in the area, but the observation lasted only 24 hours. For this reason, Alarm Phone accuses Italy of the tragic event.

"From 2.28 on March 11, the authorities were informed about the emergency and the dangerous situation. The Italian authorities deliberately delayed the rescue, leaving them to die," the organization writes.
Last night, according to Alarm Phone (NGO created by a large network of activists to alert rescue at sea), contact with the boat had been "lost".

A Sea Watch video, posted on Twitter by Radio Radicale journalist Sergio Scandura, shows the boat in dire straits and merchant ships trying to protect it from the waves but failing to intervene.

We recall that in February, a tragedy occurred on the Italian coast in Cutro where 62 people lost their lives trying to reach the shores of Italy. It is learned that the cause of this tragedy was the fact that the traffickers threw dozens of people into the sea to lighten the dinghy they were traveling with in order not to be caught by the police.
