Macron vows: I will be the president of all the French
Emmanuel Macron arrived with his wife Brigitte

Emmanuel Macron arrived with his wife Brigitte in central Paris, on the podium erected in front of the Eiffel Tower, the symbol of France, accompanied by a group of children.

As the European anthem was performed, he stopped to greet supporters, shaking hands.

Emmanuel Macron began his victory speech by thanking his supporters and the French people.

"Most of us have chosen to trust me," he says.

Macron thanked everyone who voted for him and says he is aware that many voted for him to block the far right.

He said he is also thinking about those who abstained and also those who voted for Le Pen, who today are disappointed.

"From now on, I am no longer the candidate of one party, but the president of all. "I tell those who voted for the far right that it is my responsibility and that of my team to address their concerns," Macron said.

"I will work for a fairer society and equality between men and women. We must show respect because our country is so divided… no one will be left out. This new era will not continue with the methods of the last 5 years. "The war in Ukraine shows that we are living in tragic times."

He closed his speech by saying that he is proud to serve the French people again.

His speech was followed by the interpretation of Marseille, the French national anthem.

With this victory Macron becomes the third French president who manages to be re-elected in a second term. However he will not have much time to enjoy the victory as he will soon have to think about the next parliamentary elections.

French far-left politician Jean-Luc Melenchon said in a speech Sunday after Macron's victory that the campaign for the June legislative election begins tonight.

Melenchon, who in the second round called on his supporters to vote for Macron urged the French who are dissatisfied with the system not to give up.
