The Prime Minister of the country, Albin Kurti, has responded to the EU regarding the issue of the Ibri Bridge, stating that this issue was closed in the 2016-2017 negotiations in Brussels.

According to him, we are now in August 2024 and not in January 2017, so the Ibri Bridge must be opened, says Kurti.

"The issue of the Ibri Bridge is a Kosovo issue, it is an issue that was concluded as far as Brussels is concerned in 2016-2017 and the bridge must be opened. We also want free movement of citizens, rule of law, peace and security. From our point of view, what we have to wait for is the report on the stability of the bridge".

"Once we have to wait for the report, when we see it we will assess how stable the bridge is. I have not seen it because it has not yet arrived at MLGA. It is not a matter of discussion, it is a matter of openness. In 2016, all discussions were concluded and it was said that the bridge should be opened on January 20, 2017. Now we are neither in January nor in 2017. We are in August 2024", Kurti told T7 at the inauguration of the start of works on the road. Tetovo-Prishtina.
