The race for the presidency of the United States of America is getting tighter.

Now, for the first time since the beginning of the campaign, deputy President Kamala Harris has overtaken the Republican candidate, Donald Trump, in betting, according to what "FOX Business" announces.

As of Monday morning, Harris passed Trump as the odds-on favorite to win the presidency at BetUS at 55%. Bookmakers at prediction site PolyMarket also favored Harris on Monday, giving her a 51% chance of winning the race, compared to Trump's 46%.

On PredictIt, bookmakers give Harris a 59% chance of winning, while Trump's odds have dropped to 43%.

"Not only is Harris now the leader in betting odds, but she is also the leader in terms of total bets placed, which is an impressive feat considering she became the official nominee just a week ago ", BetUS director of public relations, Tim Williams, told "FOX Business".
