Kurti: EU and NATO condemn the violence financed by Belgrade
Albin Kurti

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, during today's press conference, stated that he will not allow the destabilization of the situation in the country.

Kurti thanked the American ambassador Jeff Hovenier and the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, for the open communication and their role.

"In particular, I highly appreciate the commitment of the American ambassador, who, worried like us, contributed a lot last night to the mitigation of the situation, always supporting our state and government, our decisions and attitudes", Kurti said.

He added that he understands the concern of the European and American factors for, as he said, "the negative effect of the disinformation campaign on the two decisions of the Kosovo government, and therefore he expressed his willingness to postpone them.

" We call on the international factor, the EU and NATO to condemn the violence and aggression of criminal gangs in the north of Kosovo, which are encouraged and financed by Belgrade ", said Kurti.

The north of Kosovo has been gripped by tensions after the Kosovo government warned that starting August 1, Serbian citizens who have cars with license plates bearing the abbreviations of the cities of Kosovo, which are issued by Serbia, will be able to re-register their cars with RKS license plates (Republic of Kosovo).

Also, from today it was said that all citizens of Serbia, who will enter the territory of Kosovo, will be equipped with a temporary entry-exit document, which will replace personal identification documents from Serbia.

Serbia has applied the same practice for citizens of Kosovo for 11 years. After tensions and the request of the USA, Kurti decided to postpone this decision by one month.
